Joe joined the Boys & Girls Club in January 2016 as an intern from Western Connecticut State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion Studies with a concentration in Community Health. After his internship, Joe quickly found his groove at the Club and was hired as Assistant Director of the Leaders in Training (LIT) program for Summer Camp 2016, helping young volunteers build leadership skills, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility (with a little fun mixed in).
During his time at Western, Joe was an active member of the HPX Club, an extension of his academic program dedicated to promoting healthy habits and stress-reduction strategies through engaging campus and community events. As an intern at the Club, Joe led six educational classes for members—three focused on good sportsmanship and proper game-room play, and three interactive food demonstrations that showed kids how healthy choices can fuel both the body and the mind.
Now serving as Director of Facilities Operations, Joe is excited to continue working with the youth of Ridgefield and firmly believes the Club is a true “home away from home” for many members. He looks forward to building meaningful relationships, sharing laughs along the way, and inspiring kids—through both playful and purposeful moments—to push past their limits and always Be Great.
