Torch Club

Torch Club is a National leadership and service club for Middle School Age Club members. The program focuses on character development, community service, and social skills in a fun and creative environment. Torch Club is a powerful vehicle that helps meet the special needs of 6th - 8th grade members at a critical stage in their lives. Torch Club Members engage in programs and activities that are agreed upon, developed, and implemented by the members themselves.

During our meetings, members will break up into committees and will learn to work together to plan and implement activities in four core areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness as well as social recreation. Members will also be responsible for creating and implementing an 8-10-week National Project assigned by the Boys & Girls Club of America. However, it’s not all just working meetings; we do go on fun field trips, have parties, and Friday night socials with youth from the town as well as other Boys & Girls Clubs from around the state.

Last year we participated in various community service projects and were lucky enough to win two National awards: one for the Service to Club and community programmatic category and one for the Social Recreation programmatic category! We are very proud and honored to have had recent success and look forward to carrying the positive momentum into this year.
