Emily Wilcox came to BGCR as an intern in Fall 2022. At the time, she was studying at Western Connecticut State University, where she has since graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. While at WCSU, Emily was very involved with on-campus life, serving as the Audio Club secretary during the 2019-2020 school year and becoming an RA during the 2020-2021 school year. 

Emily grew up in Naugatuck, Connecticut: a community that greatly valued the arts. Throughout her life, she has studied graphic design, photography, drawing, music, and theater. Emily not only loved her freedom of expression through these art forms, but also loved the community and support system it gave her while growing up. Through her opportunities in the arts and seeing the impact of her family’s work as social workers, she developed a love for helping others.“Build a longer table, not a higher wall,” and “Love with your whole heart,” are two quotes Emily tries to live by each and every day and are lessons she tries to teach every day in the art room. 

When Emily is not at the club, she enjoys spending time with her family, drawing on her iPad, playing songs on her guitar, and going on adventures with her best friend.
