Pride Soccer Club is known throughout the state and Region IV as being one of the top club programs that continually produces players competing at the highest levels: State Cup champions, Regional finalist, collegiate, and U.S. youth National teams. However, not many recognize the effort off the field.
On Saturday, September 19th, 6 Pride players drove over 5 hours to hike RedCloud Mountain with the goal to juggle 100 times at the summit of the mountain. Jack McReyonds (Predator ’00-B), Matthew Davis (Predator ’00-B), Garrett Kramer (Predator ’00-B), Jayden Austin (Predator ’01-B), Jordan Johnson (Predator ’02-G), Joey Garrett (Predator ’02-G) and Kimmy McKinney (Predator ’01-G) joined #100Anywhere, an initiative to help raise funds in order to build grass soccer fields in under privileged areas of Ghana, on their own accord. However, as part of the initiative funds are only donated if the group could juggle 100 times on the summit! The six Pride players, accommanied by Robert Milk, founder of #100Anywhere, medics, search and rescue and crossfit trainers climbed the 14’er in a total of 5 hours. The rapidly changing weather, two lost balls, altitude, and general exhaustion did not stop Jack, Matthew, Garrett, Jayden, Jordan, Joey Garrett, and Kimmy from juggling 100 times! Thanks to their effort, #100Anywhere was officially kicked off.
